We recently did my husband’s office, and since he is a techie through and through, I had to keep the décor very tech-focused.
As challenging as it was, the result was a very moderno (modern) and sleek office that had a futuristic feel to it.
It got me thinking, home décor usually consists of non-functional items whose sole purpose is to sit there and look bonita (pretty).
And we spend hundreds of dollars every year on these non-functional items.
With my husband’s space, the challenge was the limited space so I could not really use all décor items anyway.
After some research, I came across the concept of using tech gadgets as décor.
A couple of Amazon orders and some DIYs, and voila! His office space was ready.
If you are also a tech-fanatic and want to save money and space by using gadgets as décor, you are at the right place.
I am going to share some tips and the best gadgets that double as decoración (décor).
Tips and Gadgets to Decorate Your Home
Lighting for Some Ambient Magic
Light is not only about illumination.
It sets the mood for your room and makes it either look narrow or wide.
If you want to amp up your décor and are reluctant to add more objects to the space, then you should begin with lighting.
I am not talking about bulbs or strip lights, rather a smart lighting system.
Placing stylish lights will not only give your space an ambient sensación (feel), but their remotely controllable functionality makes them super convenient.
You can control them through your smartphone as they are connected to the internet.
If you decide to go for smart lighting or any other smart home appliance, just make sure you have a reliable internet connection with 24/7 connectivity.
Like we have Xfinity Internet’s 500 Mbps internet plan, which is sufficient enough to support our internet needs.
If our online activities grow and require more, we can always reach out to the customer service for Xfinity en español for an upgrade.
Coming back to kitchen lighting, it has multiple settings that can light up your room according to work, relaxation, or even sleep.
They have multiple colors and are not limited to only white or yellow lights.
Moreover, some smart lights also have motion-sensing technologies, which can help you save on your bill, too.
Smart Chairs to Replace Bulky Ones
Furniture is also an essential part of home décor, but it is usually expensive and takes up a lot of space.
Imagine my surprise when we found out that we can get a multi-functional smart chair, or what I like to call ‘silla del futuro’.
These are usually very sleek in their making (unless they are made like a sofa), so they can easily become a part of your futuristic tech décor.
When it comes to functionality, tech is multi-faceted, and so are smart chairs. Some have built-in charging docks, while others have a massage feature.
My favorite one is the one that has Intelligent Ergonomic Technology.
This means the chair has built-in sensors that detect your posture, and as soon as you slouch, it sends you a notification, asking you to correct your posture.
TV Disguised as a Painting
It is hard to find a home without a TV these days. But the big black rectangular tile, mounted on a wall, often disrupts the carefully curated décor of a room.
Imagine a living room with a Boho-inspired soft palette color scheme and cream walls – and a black screen, smack in the middle. What a bummer, right?
Even though in my case, the black screen would go with the décor, I still wanted to add life to the room.
Something that was missing was its futuristic, modern estilo (style).
Lo and behold, I came across Smart Frame TVs.
These fully functional TVs work as a digital frame, showcasing a wide variety of paintings.
This allows them to blend in with the décor. In my case, I got a TV and life-breathing paintings in one space.
Usually, these have a built-in selection of paintings, but you can also choose which paintings or pictures it displays when in Art mode.
Bonus Tip: Use AI for Interior Design
Decorating your space requires creativity.
However, 24/7 creativity is quite a challenge for our technology-ridden brains.
I know because I suffered in a similar fashion when I was doing this room.
That was until I figured out another way in which technology can help us with décor.
But this time, it is more of a guide than being the décor itself.
I used ChatGPT to run my ideas and visualize them before going through with the effort in real life.
This would help me get an idea of how my idea would hold before I do it, only to find it a flop.
Apart from ChatGPT, there are many other AI tools to help you with the interior design venture process and to give suggestions on how to make do in your home budget.
Oh, the wonders of technology!
