can currently be seen starring opposite Jamie Bell as ‘Anna Strong’ in AMC’s “Turn: Washington’s Spies”. She made her Broadway debut starring opposite Al Pacino in The Merchant of Venice, for which she won the Theater World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut.  She had previously played the role when the production originated at The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in The Park, where she also starred in A Winter’s Tale.  She also starred as ‘Eliza Doolittle’ opposite Robert Sean Leonard in Pygmalion at The Williamstown Theater Festival.  She made her television debut in a recurring role on HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”, for which she won a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.  Her upcoming film roles include co-starring opposite Jake Gyllenhaal for director Jean-Marc Vallee in Demolition and co-starring opposite Greta Gerwig for director Noah Baumbach, in Mistress America. Heather attended Fordham College at Lincoln Center and received her MFA from The NYU Graduate Acting Program.

In October 2009, Silverstone released her first book titled THE KIND DIET: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet.  The book went to Number One on the New York Times bestseller list.  In THE KIND DIET, Silverstone shares her journey toward a more conscious way of eating and reveals how it has made her feel better than she ever thought possible. The book is filled with personal anecdotes, motivational tips, and nearly 100 delicious recipes. In February 2011 the paperback version of  THE KIND DIET was released with continued success and making the New York Times bestsellers list yet again.

 

In film, Silverstone recently starred alongside AJ Michalka in High-Motor Productions’ drama, Angels in Stardust directed by William Robert Carey. Angels in Stardust  was released on February 21, 2014.

Silverstone starred in Clueless, which became a sleeper hit and critical darling during the summer of 1995. Silverstone’s performance was so well received she won the National Board of Review Award for “Best Breakthrough Performer”, the MTV Movie Award for “Best Female Performance” and “Most Desirable Female” and the American Comedy Award. “Funniest Actress in a Motion Picture.”

Her television credits include ABC’s “Suburgatory”, NBC’s “Miss Match”, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, and voicing the lead character in the animated television show “Braceface” which garnered her a Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program”.  She also executive produced 75 episodes.

Ross has had readings and workshops with The Amoralists, The Cherry Lane Theater, Colt Coeur, Dorset Theater Festival, Iama Theater Company, The Juilliard School, Labyrinth Theater Company, LCT3, Manhattan Theater Club, Montana Rep, New York Stage and Film, The New Group, The Pacific Playwrights Festival, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, and the TheatreWorks Palo Alto New Works Festival. Her play Of Good Stock will receive its world premiere in 2015 as a part of the Pacific Playwrights Festival at South Coast Repertory where it was commissioned. Subsequently her play Nice Girl will have its world premiere with Labyrinth Theater Company.
