Visitors can expect a great sensory experience like the sounds of local musicians, the smell of fresh seafood, and most importantly, the chance to meet over 200 artists and craftspeople showing everything from tiny seashell jewelry to massive driftwood sculptures.
Many artists offer live demonstrations and their workshops on different types of crafts, and yes, you can try your hand at various crafts too! My kids look forward to it every year and every year, there’s something new.

The jewelry artists at this event are truly exceptional and many create pieces using sea glass they’ve collected along Gulf beaches. Now this is a great way to keep the beach clean and also make something so beautiful out of it.
I bought a pair of earrings last year made from tiny blue sea glass fragments wrapped in silver wire, and they catch the light just like the Gulf on a sunny day.
There were other jewelry makers too who work with shells, pearls, and even tiny starfish that have been preserved. Those were some truly unique pieces I ever saw and they range from casual beach-style ankle bracelets to high-end statement necklaces worthy of formal occasions.

And it’s completely different from those commercial chimes that just make noise. My kids spent almost an hour here last year, creating matching shirts with pelican designs. They still wear them all the time and love telling people they made them themselves.
